We have temporarily stopped the sale of bamboo furniture from the south - we need to find a better and more consistent manufacturer. our last group was very bad and shipped bad product. We do not like to do bad work for you so we have halted this product. Bamboo handicrafts are not affected by this.

The forests of the world are being plundered by many, and it seems no matter how hard governments and organizations try to stop this from happening - we will never replenish the forests.

Slowly the world will wake up to using alternative wood products and two that we like are - Rubber wood and Bamboo. Yes Bamboo! Bamboo is 16% harder than maple it is harder than Red Oak. The NEW BAMBOO processing methods are very different. You do not need to have CHUNKY JUNGLE look furniture -- look at the thumbnails below. All these are pictures of Bamboo - Bamboo tables and chairs and stairs and bamboo flooring.
Bamboo can be beautiful.

BAMBOO MATURES IN 3 YEARS

not 30 years to 100 years like regular wood trees. Bamboo replenishes itself. You do not need to reforest bamboo - it does it all by itself
- Bamboo has been observed to grow as much as 18 inches IN ONE DAY.

We need to re-educate ourselves and TRY to save our delicate Rainforests.
Using Bamboo for flooring - furniture - household accessories is a good start .

There are some more very good wood types that CURRENTLY have a large inventory, but they all take a lot longer to grow. We do like Rubber Wood and Eucalptus, but supplies are not as abundant as Bamboo.




Bamboo is an extremely strong and versatile material as well as being good for the environment. It is stronger and harder than maple or red oak. Unlike regular WOOD, bamboo does not need to be replanted, it takes care of itself. You cut, it grows, it almost dares you to try and get rid of. This means that harvested areas quickly regenerate and help prevent soil erosion as well as utilising carbon dioxide 10 times faster than other timber crops. Bamboo comes to complete maturity in 3 years or less. A clump of bamboo at Ground Zero actually survived the atomic blast at Hiroshima and sent up new shoots within days.

Use of bamboo also reduces the demand for timber being logged from rainforest areas. Bamboo is the choice of the environmentally conscious.




Some of the hardwoods native to vietnam include

Red Balau(soon to be a restricted product), Yellow Balau, Keruing, Eucalyptus (2), Kajuput, Acacia, Vietnamese Mahogany, Rubberwood ( another new and logical alternative wood), Xana teak, Xoan Dao, Cao Su.

Yellow Balau is the strongest followed by Red Balau and Keruing and have excellent longevity outdoors.

Rubberwood looks similar to PINE - but is very hard and they use small pieces finger jointed - it looks very nice.

Kajuput is interesting as well - it is used for supporting stilts for homes - it seems the longer it is wet - the stronger it gets.
