These picture do not represent the full line of furniture. There is always new styles and custom styles. We work with companies who respect the changing forest conditions and us the new accepted woods. |
Even though the names are new to westerners, balau, keruing, eucalyptus, Zana Teak, are all extremely strong and plentiful wood species. Yellow Balau has a density factor of over 900, and is one of the worlds stronger species. Red Balau is 850 density, this is probably the best strength to cost wood species. |
Many people have their mind set on TEAK, the above species are stronger and less expensive. TEAK is now a black market wood in many places - even Indonesia uses 90% plus - "recycled teak" since it is a protected species.Vietnam does have a "plantation Teak" available |
Philippine mahogany --- it is extinct as a useful - legal wood...
Vietnam has Xoan Dao - Vietnamese Mahogany which is properly farmed and managed.
We must all get re-educated
the old wood is disappearing - the new managed forests have new names - but in most cases it is better wood.
